A few weeks ago we received an email letting us know that Addison’s Lego creation was selected as one of two winners in the Officeworks LEGO-Mania competition. It was entered under his Dad’s name because entries had to be submitted via Facebook and he of course is too young to have a Facebook account, but the design and construction were all his own work.
Entrants were required to create a Lego model incorporating items from the Lego stationery range available from Officeworks. This was Addison’s entry, “Up, Up and Away!”
The 30cm rulers made perfect wings for his bi-plane and with a cape added, the minifigure from the ruler set made a great wing surfer.
Addie was rewarded with an Officeworks gift voucher and a box full of goodies, mostly Lego themed to share with his sister.
Addison’s little sister also submitted an entry, “A Day At The Park”. She used the Lego rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners and pencils…and lots of Lego and Lego Friends minifigures.
She needed a little help from Mum and Dad, especially with the swing and the structure to support the giant slide but was very proud of her creation. She didn’t win a prize but was very excited to see her creation displayed on the Officeworks Facebook page and most importantly, had a lot of fun making her Lego Playground which she still plays with weeks later.
Congratulations! We are very proud of our children for ‘having a go’. They put a lot of effort into their creations.
